Argentum Wallet Terms of Use

1. What Argentum Wallet is

Argentum Wallet is a non-custodial crypto wallet: software that runs on your device, generates a recovery phrase, derives keys from it and uses those keys to read balances and to sign transactions you approve. Installing or using it means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

These terms cover the app. argentumhq.com has its own terms, and Argentum AI is a separate product with its own.

2. Argentum does not hold your funds

This is the defining property of the product, so it is stated without qualification:

• Argentum Wallet does not custody funds. Argentum never holds, controls, possesses or has access to your crypto assets or your keys. There is no server-side copy of your recovery phrase, no shared-key or multi-party scheme, and no hosted recovery of any kind. Argentum cannot move, freeze, seize, restore or reverse anything in your wallet, because it has no means to do so.
• Argentum Wallet does not exchange crypto. There is no swap, no in-app trading, no order book and no routing to an exchange, centralised or otherwise.
• Argentum Wallet does not sell crypto. There is no purchase with a card, no on-ramp and no fiat rails. Argentum is not a party to, and takes no fee from, any transfer you make.

These are deliberate product decisions, not features awaiting a release. Argentum does not act as a broker, dealer, exchange, money transmitter or custodian, and Argentum Wallet is not a payment service.

3. You are the only holder of your recovery phrase

You are solely responsible for safeguarding your recovery phrase, any encrypted backup you create, its password, and the device the wallet runs on. In particular:

• If you lose your recovery phrase and lose access to your device, your funds are unrecoverable. Not by you, not by Argentum, not by anybody. There is no reset, no support channel that can restore access, and no exception.
• Anyone who obtains your recovery phrase can take everything in the wallet. Never type it into a website, an app, a chat or a form; never photograph it; never send it to anyone. Argentum will never ask you for it — anyone who does is trying to rob you.
• Transactions on a blockchain are irreversible. A transfer sent to the wrong address, on the wrong network, or to a fraudulent recipient cannot be undone or refunded by Argentum or by anyone else.
• You choose what to interact with. Any token, contract or application you choose to use is your decision and your risk. A token appearing in your wallet is not a statement by Argentum about it — anyone can create a token and give it any name.

4. No financial advice

Argentum Wallet is a tool for holding and moving your own assets. Nothing in the app or on this site is investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Dollar values shown in the app are indicative prices from third-party data, carry the time they were obtained, and are marked as out of date once they age. Press headlines shown in the app are written by third parties; Argentum neither writes nor endorses them. Crypto assets are volatile and you can lose everything you put in.

5. Availability of network services

The wallet reads blockchains through node providers, and can show dollar values and headlines through Argentum services. Those services may be slow, rate-limited or unavailable, and the app is built to keep working without them: a failed price lookup shows quantities without a value, and a network that cannot be read is reported as unread rather than shown as zero. Argentum does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any of it, and does not guarantee that a transaction you broadcast will be included by a blockchain network.

6. Your responsibilities

You agree to use Argentum Wallet only for lawful purposes and to comply with the laws that apply to you, including tax obligations arising from your own transactions. You are responsible for determining whether using a self-custody wallet is lawful where you live. Do not use the app to attack, reverse-engineer for the purpose of defeating its security guarantees, or interfere with Argentum's services or other users.

7. Intellectual property

The Argentum name, the Ag mark, the Argentum Wallet name and the app's design and content belong to Argentum. These terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the app, and nothing more.

8. As is, and limits of liability

Argentum Wallet is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Argentum is not liable for any loss of crypto assets, loss of profits, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the app — including losses caused by a lost or disclosed recovery phrase, a mistaken or fraudulent transaction, a third-party token or contract, a node provider's failure, or the unavailability of any service described above. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Privacy

What the app sends, what Argentum's services see and what is never stored is described in the Argentum Wallet Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do, and continuing to use the app means you accept the updated version. You may stop using Argentum Wallet at any time by deleting it — and because the wallet is non-custodial, your funds remain yours and reachable from your recovery phrase in any compatible wallet.
